The Pepsi Can stove is composed of four parts: three pieces made from soda cans and some foil tape. Two soda can bottoms are the exterior pieces. The upper can is turned upside down and fits over the lower can. The center "bowl" of the upper can is cut out making a large hole for easy fuel filling and lighting. Small burner holes are made around the perimeter of the top section. A cylinder made from the wall of a third soda can serves as an interior wall to the stove, thus the stove has a hollow double wall construction like the Trangia. Heat resistant foil tape holds the two exterior pieces together and prevents flame leaks.

Bartender jailed for lethal tequila

OSLO, Norway (AP) -- A 32-year-old Norwegian bartender was sentenced to six months in prison Wednesday for serving a customer so much tequila that he fell into a coma and died.

According to a district court in the southwestern city of Hokksund the bartender, whose name was withheld, pleaded guilty to serving 34-year-old Leif Henning Nilsen 19 shots of the strong Mexican liquor in 90 minutes at the Spiseriet restaurant in May 2004.

This is what I'll be eating for thanksgiving.  I was a vegetarian for 8 years and left for a while, but now I'm back.  I know a lot of you will think this is disgusting/disturbing, but it's actually quite Delicious.

Writing for Make magazine, Larsson described how an old VCR--assuming its timer was still operational--could be turned into a "programmabowl VCR" designed to ensure that pets be fed on time in their owners' absence.

"The crux of it is that when a VCR becomes redundant or becomes faulty, it's usually the case that the system that runs timing and motor control are the last to die," Larsson said. THE mystery of why marijuana users feel the need to consume two packets of Tim Tams, three packets of Twisties and a litre of iced coffee every time they light up has been solved.

In a study sponsored by the Australian Research Council, behavioural neuroscientist Paul Mallet and his former PhD student Aaron Verty found the part of the brain that is responsible for cannabis smokers getting "the munchies".

"An increase in appetite is a well-known side-effect of smoking marijuana," Dr Mallet said.

"However, the way in which the brain controls the hunger-inducing effect of cannabis was not well understood until now."

Dr Mallet, of the University of New England in northern NSW, says cannabis users get hungry because the drug activates receptors called cannabinoids, which trigger appetite.

 

"Hunger is associated with an increase in the release of cannabis-like substances produced in the brain," he said.

The research focused on the paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus in the brain.
