Horrible Pessimistic and Sensationalistic News of 2005

You know what... I fucking hate the media.  Negative news sells, I guess, but it would be cool to hear something like "so-and-so had a great birthday".

With that, I give you the negative year in review:

Natural disasters, terrorism and politics drove the top stories of 2005, according to an unscientific poll of CNN.com readers.

New Intel Slogan

I mentioned a couple of shows ago that Intel would be dropping their venerable slogan "Intel Inside".  It's now come out that their new slogan will be "Leap Ahead".  Yay for marketing idiots.  Not that anyone cares about this, but I thought it was interesting.

INTEL'S DROPPING the beloved Intel Inside logo, slogan, marketing campaign and lawsuit bait, but that is old news.

What isn't all that widely know is that they are replacing it with the really cool, HACK, slogan of, COUGH, 'Leap Ahead'. RASP.

This much more something slogan will invoke feelings of something, and make people warm and fuzzy about that nebulous thing, just like a colour.

My excitement knows no bounds and scales like a Pentium 4 on crack. Picture me sitting down trying to keep from falling asleep with excitement, slowly twirling one finger half-heartedly above my head.

Survival Guide to Drunken New Year's Eve Sex

This seemed like a handy thing for everyone to have.
 

Though we don't usually encourage mixing sex with excessive drinking, there's no denying that it happens, especially on New Year's Eve. Our best advice is to plan ahead, choose your date, and be prepared with condoms and whatever else you need before the booze starts flowing and the big ball drops. Volkswagen Trucks & Dreadlocks

I received this email today... Pretty damn funny... He also sent along a picture of his truck... another long lost brother  podcasting out there.

this might be a bit strange, not only did i have dreadlocks in high
school, but i still have an 83 volkswagen diesel rabbit truck. though i
never had the dreads and the truck at the same time. it's strange how
similar alot of podcasters are.
